This fun-filled leadership book takes you through my life in 40 short vignettes. Each chapter of my life has been fun, and I know many of my circumstances will resonate with others who read the book.

In a metropolitan city in Texas, there is a post that reads, ‘Live A Great Story’. When I first saw it, I just chuckled, but I was fascinated by it and really started to ponder that message. I asked myself, “Have I led a great story?” In many ways, the answer was “Yes”. I had traveled all over the world, had jobs I loved, and a good family life. I had money in my pocket, food on my table, and clothes on my back—the three things God promises us—food, clothing, and shelter.
But, as I continued to ponder that post, I was challenged by all of the areas I could do to live a greater story, and I made a list of those. Not a bucket list because I had already completed everything on my bucket list, except one thing—to become a MacArthur Fellow, and that was not going to happen because I was making a difference in the world of work, but not necessarily for the broader community.
The first thing on my list was to tell my story through writing. I had always kept a journal, which is what leaders need to do to express their inner thoughts and to monitor their personal and professional progress. What I intended, however, was to create a few books, write a few blogs, and write professionally for a magazine of some kind. So, I set those plans in motion and was able to miraculously accomplish all of them. I found and continue to find pleasure in writing and telling stories about my life, my family, and my journey to greatness. This book is dedicated to that journey, and details many of the wonderful experiences I have had as a child, a teen, a young adult, and now a full-fledged adult. The book gives short vignettes that leaders can laugh out loud about, resonate with, and use in their daily lives to assess their own achievements. It is a fun look inside of myself to determine how well or how poorly I addressed situations—big and small—as I ultimately realized—it’s leadership, stupid!
