You Have To Have A Point to Make A Point!

About 25 years ago, there was an animated movie that featured characters who lived in a community whereby they all had pointed heads, except for one character who did not have a pointed head. The character with no point, kept repeating throughout the movie, you don’t have to have a point to make a point!

Well, as leaders, we do need to have a point to make a point, otherwise, our efforts would be pointless!

For example, why call a meeting if there is no point? Or send out an e-mail that has no point? Points need to be made in our conversations with others. Points need to be made when we discuss performance evaluations. We need to pointedly point out our game plan so others understand our point of view. And, yes, we need to slow down enough to walk people through from points A to Z.

By now, you may be thinking, ‘What’s Yvonne’s point?’ Or better yet, you may be thinking she needs to hurry up and make her point because I have some appointments.

Well, I made my point: Leaders do need to have a point to make a point. But did you get the point? If so, then you will be on point
